Paradise: The Hidden Land

IngridMwangiRobertHutter

Performance. Installation. Video. Photography

In December and January zeitraumexit puts the first individual exhibition of IngridMwangiRobertHutter in the Rhine Neckar area. Comparable exhibitions, illustrating different facets of the widespread work of the pair of artists, were so far to be seen in Dar Es Salaam, Genova, Cairo, Nairobi, New York and Yokohama, not however in the direct periphery their domicile in Ludwigshafen. „Paradise: The hidden land“ closes this gap. The show focusses on works originated in 2010 and 2011. The videos „Power for Japan “, „Fairy tale of the black mountain “and “Reviving of the fittest” are linked by the artists devotion to humans and places. Thus the viewer is addressed as ‚a traveler ` - looking into a world he could likewise be.

The two artists consider their practice as inseparable—"one artist two bodies"—and thus exhibit under their combined names IngridMwangiRobertHutter. While their work enlists video, installation, and photography, it is inherently performative.

Their artistic practice, that connects performance art with video, photography and installation corresponds to a considerable degree with the profile of zeitraumexit. Therefore it is particularly pleasing that curator Wolfgang Sautermeister can open this exhibition „Paradise: The hidden land“ togehter with IngridMwangiRobertHutter.
